 LIFE MEMBER:   Brian Bergin

Brian Bergin was granted a well deserved Life Membership at the January Sunday BBQ.

Brian and wife Lyn joined the RSL in 1980 and they immediately committed to its activities. Brian took on leadership roles, including welfare, fostering comradeship, commemorations, organizing social activities, bus trips, funerals, and of course, bowling.

Brian joined the committee as President in 2004, a position he held for the next twelve years. Brian oversaw a great deal of change during that time, and before he stepped aside in 2015, he made sure a succession plan was in place. He promoted comradeship and his mantra was always " we are a friendly club!"

He also managed the Duke of Edinburgh Shield bowling team.

Congratulations and well done Brian & Lyn.
